I would argue that it wasn’t testing actual lines, it was testing perceived lines which is a different research question. I would be curious to see the test redone today with digitization of a 35mm film of a test pattern (or that film).

@Quarterican_KJ @miguelm2030 @jetthejudge @banestudent21 @disneyplus 4K is equivalent to about 8megapixels. The 35mm film Star Wars was shot on is equivalent to 80+ megapixels with colors and transitions digital can’t pick up on yet.
So yeah, the original Star Wars is at least 4K.
